DIALOGUE

Color is the skin of the world – #SoniaDelaunay

I had the pleasure of painting a mural in the city of Nantes as part of the collective exhibition “Dialogue: Crossed Views Between Urban Art and Art History” organized by @plusdecouleurs. This project fosters a conversation between urban art and art history, featuring works from @museedartsdenantes and @fracdespaysdelaloire alongside pieces by contemporary urban artists. My mural was displayed alongside a sculpture by Raymond Hains, a prominent figure known for his pioneering use of torn posters and unconventional materials in art, which deconstructed everyday objects to question reality and perception. The intention with the mural was to create a color study, focusing on complementary colors and their harmony.

Color is intrinsic to our identity. It is a perceptual property shaped by light and our interaction with it—filtered through the eye, brain, and individual experience. From the outset, my work has revolved around color and pure abstraction, underpinned by three key elements: color, geometry, and constructive composition. Over the years, my palette has evolved from basic tones with subtle variations to the vibrant and dynamic colors I use today. This shift has allowed each hue to find its place in perfect equilibrium within the work.
